After many years gathering data, and long hours in front of the computer – Birds of Zambia is finally published!
The app has been a collaborative effort together with Frank Willems and Rory McDougall and features not only the authors’ work but images and sounds from the many very generous photographers, artists and sound recordists who contributed to the final product.
The app includes:
● Hi-res images, distribution maps and detailed text descriptions for all 780 bird species recorded in Zambia including seasonality and breeding graphics.
● Photographs of each species, with multiple images for most.
● Audible calls for nearly all species.
● Plus a detailed explanation of the data under the introduction; and Zambia’s natural landscape covering the Geography & Topography, Biogeographical Areas, National Parks & Important Bird Areas, Rivers & wetlands, Geology, Rainfall, Vegetation and Conservation.

This app would not have been possible without the generous sponsorship from First Quantum Mining & Operations Ltd, Waterberry Zambezi Lodge & The River Farmhouse, Tessa Prior and Tom & Ursula Bryson-Franke.
Thanks too must go to the very many people who contributed in many ways – photographs, sounds, artwork – not forgetting knowledge & time given by many.

Species are listed in both alphabetic and taxonomic order.

Multiple species images.
